Alex Wagner is a freelance illustrator based in New York City. He is known for his dramatic, heavily textured style inspired by vintage sword and sorcery magazines. Alex uses layer after layer of inks to depict subjects which range from familiar to otherworldly.

Alex grew up in Denver, CO. making pencil drawings of dragons and superheroes, and went on to pursue his passion for creating art by attaining his BFA in Illustration. Plein air painting trips to Rome and Florence have also had a large impact on his work. Having recently transplanted to Brooklyn, NY, he can usually be found enjoying one of the many local museums and galleries.
